M - O Managed fund
An investment that pools money from several
investors and uses it to buy a particular type of investment,
such as shares.
Marginal Tax Rates (MTR)
Australia’s sliding tax rates, ranging from
0% to 47% of your salary depending on the salary amount.
Market capitalisation
The total number of shares on issue
multiplied by their market price. This can be applied to work
out the market value of one company or of the value of all
companies listed on the exchange.
Mortgage
A legal agreement under which you take out a
loan and use the property being purchased as security for that
loan.
Mutual Fund
A term to describe Managed Investments in
the US and are similar to unit trusts in Australia.
N Net assets
Total assets minus total liabilities;
proprietorship; owner's equity.
Net income
The amount of someone’s income that they can
use or spend; the amount remaining once tax and payroll
deductions are made.
